Torn Border

This hot weather….

A 'hot' topic at the moment is how to keep your horse hydrated while temperatures soar.

Our forages are taken straight from the field while fresh, to be flash-dried at high temperature - a process which takes only about three minutes. As a result, the dried forages will rehydrate, absorbing water when wetted or soaked.

All of the Emerald Green Feeds range of forage pellets can be soaked to a mash, or much sloppier like a soup if preferred. In fact, we've heard reports from customers whose horses are reluctant to drink being encouraged to drink with just a hint of grass dissolved in the water!  Our Grass-tastic, Alfalfa-mazing and Fibre Fabulous chops can also be soaked or dampened to introduce more moisture to a feed.

If you already feed a mash, consider adding more water than usual to make a sloppier consistency and increase your horse's intake of fluids during the hotter weather or when exercising.

From Field to Pellets to Mash to Soup!
