Sophie Spiteri has been offering a retraining service to racing yards and owners across the UK and Ireland for over 10 years. She works with some of the UK’s top trainers and works hard to ensure these horses all find a second career. Based just 20 minutes from Poppit Sands in Cardigan Bay West Wales, Sophie and her team visit the beach on a weekly basis, where horses enjoy a good stretch of canter work and a splash in the sea. Spiteri has evented up to 2* level on her own horses and now enjoys producing her young horses for the upcoming event season. All of her horses are fueled by Emerald Green Feeds.
All horses are individually assessed and worked according to their individual needs and requirements. Horses will generally undergo an assessment period of 3-6 weeks according to their ridden capabilities, before finding private, long term homes. Where appropriate, horses that are in for retraining will attend riding club clinics, local dressage and show jumping rallies.
Sophie first became a brand ambassador for Emerald Green Feeds in 2018 and has become an invaluable and integral member of the EGF team.
